Coach's Bio

Jeanne Decker

This is Jeanne Decker’s fifth summer as a part of the Mako Sharks team and fourth season as a Mako coach. She has more years of swimming and coaching experience than she would like to admit! She started swimming summer league with the Lake Ridge Barracudas in Virginia as an 8 year old, and swam with a USS club for many years. Jeanne has coached and taught YMCA and private swim lessons at all levels. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Texas A&M University. Jeanne is married to John Decker and they have two children, Riley and Isabelle.

Jeanne believes that summer league swimming is a great way to foster a love of the sport while instilling a sense of team work, discipline and fun! She enjoys watching the swimmers improve during the season, and work hard to achieve their personal goals.

Natalie Miller

Natalie has been in love with the sport of swimming her whole life. She started swimming with the Oak Creek Cudas when she was six, and then started year round swimming with ATEX when she was eight. Natalie swam for Westfield High school, where she was District Champion in the 100 backstroke her senior year. She attended Henderson State University, where she received an athletic scholarship. During her college swimming career she was a nationally ranked swimmer receiving 8 All American awards and MVP. She is still a record holder for HSU in four relays, and the 100 backstroke. Natalie still holds pool and team records for the Cudas, a few records at Ponderosa Invitational and the Pentathlon, as well as a record for the Westfield Mustangs. Her main strokes were always freestyle, backstroke, and fly; however due to shoulder surgery she is no longer able to swim fly. She has been coaching for summer league swimming for four years. In the summer of 2007, she went overseas to Amsterdam where she coached a group of swimmers as they trained and competed in an international meet. She loves getting to know each swimmer she coaches, and loves seeing them improve throughout the summer

She graduated from Henderson State University in May of 2009, with a degree in Accounting. She is currently going to school at Texas A&M University Kingsville, where she will graduate with another degree in Finance. She recently got engaged in February and is enjoying planning her May of 2011 wedding!
